The opponent almost ripped LeBron for punching him in the face. Two minutes of embarrassment

Lebron

Lakers superstar LeBron James nearly provoked a mass brawl and was removed from the court because of a bloody incident against the Pistons.

The Lakers and Pistons NBA game in Detroit was marred by two minutes of turmoil on the court, during which players, coaches and staff tried to keep Detroit forward Isaiah Stewart and visiting superstar LeBron James from scuffling. In the end, Stewart ran to the locker room with blood on his face and James was suspended for punching his opponent in the face for the rest of the game. Passion was kept in check, although a mass fight was literally one step away. It's not out of the question that the incident will still have consequences in the form of penalties and reprimands.

Detroit collapsed after the fight.

It all started during a free throw by the Pistons in the third quarter. During the rebounding struggle, Lakers leader LeBron James swung his hand away from Detroit center Isaiah Stewart. The home team player fell to the floor and his face bled. After that, Stewart went into a rage and came at James with his fists. Luckily, the other basketball players and coaches were able to react quickly and pull the huge Isaiah away from his bully. For the next two minutes, the Detroit player tried to break through to LeBron, while a crowd of well-wishers cut off the rampaging basketball player from LeBron, who himself was emotional and not at all averse to a fight.

Eventually Isaiah grew tired of the brawl and ran to the locker room for medical attention. Subsequently, he received a suspension for the rest of the match. James' elbow shot was also assessed a match penalty after watching the replay. Basically, the usual adrenaline rush of basketball, although the incident with the bloody giant (Stewart was bleeding near the eye and around the mouth) looked creepy. The game was resumed at 78-66 in favor of Detroit, but the Pistons literally fell apart after that incident, gave up 20 points in the fourth quarter and eventually lost 121-116. Next Sunday, the same opponents meet in Los Angeles and will be able to continue figuring things out.

Exceptional emotions.

What happened Monday night in Detroit was vividly reminiscent of the carnage that took place in this city on Nov. 19, 2004, during an NBA game between the Pistons and Indiana. In the heat of battle between the players, a glass of soda hit a Pacers player in the stands, after which the angry players attacked the crowd. As a result of that brawl, basketball players were suspended for a total of 146 games. Five players received suspended sentences and five fans were banned from the stadium for life. Security at the stadium was tightened after that brawl, and perhaps that's what's keeping the riots going now. In any case, when LeBron was leaving the arena, no objects were flying at him from the stands.

Lakers forward Anthony Davis said James didn't intend to hurt his opponent during the struggle under the basket and that he broke the rules unintentionally. "Stewart tried to push LeBron away, and LeBron did the same thing. Everyone in the league knows James is not a dirty player," noted one of those involved in the incident. - As soon as Stewart bled, LeBron immediately said it was an accident. Isaiah's behavior was totally inappropriate. This is the first time in my career I've seen a reaction like that." Pistons coach Dwane Casey said Stewart had nine stitches in his wound and urged the NBA not to punish the 28-year-old whose actions were motivated solely by emotion.
